As with just about every other profession, there is one overriding factor: talent.
If you want to make a lot of money as a recruiter, talent is a great place to start.
However, you also need to evolve as a recruiter.
You need to become better, to hone your skills, and improve your process.

Mike is spot on — you have to understand that there are about 1,000 ways that recruiters are paid in this industry.
Generous firms will pay out 50%, maybe even slightly higher for big producers.
So — to your poll — to equate cash-in with earning is incorrect.
Even if you are working for yourself and you have a one-person office, a good percentage of what you are making is going to pay for business expenses.
